Association of Commerce hosts Future Together Mini-Conference

The Fond du Lac Area Association of Commerce will host the 2nd Annual Future Together Fond du Lac Mini-Conference on Thursday, May 11 at the Thelma Sadoff Center for the Arts. Themed around the new Wisconsin State Brand, Think. Make. Happen., the event will encourage participants to think bigger, make their mark in the community and be poised for great things to happen.

This 2nd Annual event is a collaborative effort of the Fond du Lac Marketing Professionals, Young Professionals of Fond du Lac, Fond du Lac Area Human Resources Association, Downtown Fond du Lac Partnership and Ignite! Business Success. In addition to two keynote presentations, twelve breakout sessions will be hosted by regional and national industry leaders in the fields of entrepreneurship, marketing, human resources, communications, and sales development.

Award-winning filmmaker, Chip Duncan, will provide the opening keynote presentation focusing on building bridges between cultures. Duncan has written, produced and directed more than 40 long form documentaries for international broadcast, winning more than 130 national and international awards and distribution in more than 140 countries. In addition, his work as a still photographer has been featured in numerous exhibitions including the World Peace Festival (Berlin), the Council on Foreign Relations (NYC), and the Kenosha Public Museum in southeast Wisconsin.

World-renowned autism and savant syndrome expert, Dr. Darold Treffert, will close out the event challenging attendees to make themselves smarter by tapping into their island of intactness. For over 50 years, Dr. Treffert has researched autism and savant syndrome resulting in over 50 publications in professional journals and appearances in TIME, People, Newsweek and USA Today. In addition, Dr. Treffert was a consultant to the movie RAINMAN in which Dustin Hoffman portrays an autistic savant.

The conference will be held on Thursday, May 11 beginning at 7:30 a.m. at the Thelma Sadoff Center for the Arts. A light breakfast and lunch will be provided with the event wrapping up at 1:00 p.m. Cost to attend is $100 for one attendee, $85 each for two to four attendees, and $70 each for five or more attendees.
