History of Project GRILL

The Fond du Lac Project GRILL program follows a blueprint created by a group of Sheboygan County manufacturers that worked with Lakeshore Technical College and Sheboygan area local schools to launch the program in 2007-2008. The manufacturers - Johnsonville Sausage, J.L. French Automotive Castings, Masters Gallery, Nemschoff, Rockline Industries, Sargento Cheese and Vollrath - got together with local schools to create the program they named Project GRILL. They wanted to build relationships between manufacturing and schools to open students' minds to the potential that careers in manufacturing could provide. Put simply, they wanted to make manufacturing cool. The Association of Commerce has worked closely and in full cooperation with the Sheboygan County creators.
