If no action is taken, Fond du Lac County alone faces a gap of 17,000 unfilled jobs by 2026.

This is just one of the startling insights gained from the Association of Commerce’s Retirement and Departure Intentions Survey. About 2000 Fond du Lac County workers and 7800 area health care workers were asked penetrating questions about their retirement plans.

Full results from the 2007-2008 survey will be unveiled July 30 in a program sponsored by Charter Business that will walk through the data on retirements, factors influencing retirement decisions, post-retirement plans and departure intentions in detail.

Speakers include Jim Hubbard, recently of Mercury Marine; Josh Bullock, of Moraine Park Technical College; AC Board Chair Gary Ott; and AC President Joe Reitemeier.

The survey was completed in conjunction with the Fond du Lac Area Human Resource Association and Moraine Park Technical College.
